In a stunning development, the World Health Organization did a 180 on lockdowns. Dr. David Nabarro, WHO’s social envoy on COVID-19 said, “We really do appeal to all world leaders: stop using lockdown as your primary control method.”

The lockdowns must really be starting to negatively affect the uber elite and rich for the WHO to come out against them.
Dr. Nabarro said, “Lockdowns just have one consequence that you must never ever belittle, and that is making poor people an awful lot poorer.”
“We in the World Health Organisation do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus,” Dr Nabarro told The Spectator.
“The only time we believe a lockdown is justified is to buy you time to reorganise, regroup, rebalance your resources, protect your health workers who are exhausted, but by and large, we’d rather not do it.”
Democrat governors are now in a pickle, they have used lockdowns to “control” the virus. Those lockdowns have destroyed cities like New York. Nabarro called out the economic destruction of the lockdowns.
“Just look at what’s happened to the tourism industry in the Caribbean, for example, or in the Pacific because people aren’t taking their holidays,” he said.
“Look what’s happened to smallholder farmers all over the world. … Look what’s happening to poverty levels. It seems that we may well have a doubling of world poverty by next year. We may well have at least a doubling of child malnutrition.”
The announcement from the World Health Organization comes after 12,000 of the world’s top experts signed the Great Barrington Declaration which is calling for an end to lockdowns and a return to normal life for those not at risk.
“As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists, we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection,” read the petition.
Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.
The left went on an all-out assault of the declaration. Left-wing sites like Mother Jones and The Guardian all attacked the Declaration but what will they do now that their beloved World Health Organization is calling for an end to lockdowns too?
