In an apparent call for activist, progressive “squad” member Ilhan Omar tweeted Friday:

They say the world belongs to those who show up and I am a firm believer in that.

Let’s show up in the streets, city halls, state capitals and the people’s house.

But more importantly, let’s show up to vote.

Make a plan, take a friend or two and let’s get this done.

Wednesday, more than four dozen people were arrested by Minneapolis police after the police officer who faces murder charges for the death of George Floyd was released after posting a $1 million dollar bond.

Minneapolis police said 51 arrests were made.

Some who responded to Omar were concerned her words could incite violence.

One Twitter user replied “Talk about inciting….”

Another replied “There’s been enough riots, Ilhan”

One Twitter user asked “Let’s show up in the streets, city halls, state capitals and the people’s house.

what does this mean? can someone translate? i don’t want people showing up in my house”
