Congresswoman Ilham Omar (D-MN) took aim at President Trump on Monday and demanded that he “divest” from his businesses in wake of heated tension with Iran after their military general Qassem Soleimani was eliminated.
Omar suggested Iran could “threaten” Trump hotels worldwide, which could then cause President Trump to “provoke war” due to “loss of revenue from skittish customers.”
The suggestion from Rep. Omar came after “an Iranian official tweeted a list of properties owned by the Trump Organization and suggested that Trump be targeted following his decision to kill Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani,” as reported by the Washington Examiner.
“Trump needs to immediately divest from his businesses and comply with the emoluments clause,” Omar tweeted. “Iran could threaten Trump hotels *worldwide* and he could provoke war over the loss of revenue from skittish guests.”
“His business interests should not be driving military decisions,” she proclaimed.
After seeing Omar’s remarks, Dan Bongino slammed the congresswoman for even hinting at such a scenario.
“I spent 15 years of my life in law enforcement & in the security arena and I’ve yet to see a public figure say something as reckless and irresponsible as this,” Bongino said in a reply to Omar.
“Rep. Omar is in no position to make any moral judgments given her own behavior, but even hinting at this is disgusting,” he declared. See Below

Omar’s remarks came just days after she vowed to “step in and stop” President Trump from going to war after learning of General Soleimani’s death.
On Tuesday night, Bongino reacted to news of missile strikes carried out by Iran on military bases where U.S. troops are stationed.
Bongino blasted “liberals” and the “anti-Trump crowd” on social media for “celebrating & cracking jokes” about Iran’s apparent retaliation.
